Everybody is happy and cheerful

Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

Everybody is happy and cheerful

Postby dave54 » Wed Jan 29, 2014 9:26 pm

It started raining, supposed to turn to snow later tonight.

Normally people are gloomy and quiet when it rains. At the grocery store on the way home from work everyone in the store were all smiles, cheerful, chatty, and animated. Almost dancing in the aisles. At the checkout people were looking out the big windows in front at the pouring rain and saying "Yeah Baby!! Bring it on!" :)

About a foot here at lake level in Tahoe, MUCH more up higher thank God!
Many of us have been so brainwashed over the years — by sheer repetition, rather than by either logic or empirical tests — that statistical disparities are automatically taken to mean discrimination, whether between races, sexes or whatever.
