Show yourself!

Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

Here's one from last fall:

One of the rare times I'm not wearing sun glasses:

My friend surprised me and pulled a couple of Heines out of his pack. They were even COLD! This is what pure happiness looks like:

I'm still rather convinced that you can achieve more than you've ever dreamed of if you just lower your standards.

FNG checking in.

Hi, I'm Randy and I'm an alcohol.... nevermind wrong forum.

Orange County born and raised. Been hiking/backpacking for a couple of decades. Getting ready to do the HST from Sequoia to Whitney in August. I was just introduced to this forum and thought I'd say hi before I start posting and asking questions and stuff.

Hi Randy,

Welcome to HST! Looking forward to reading about your trip!
Professional Sierra Landscape Photographer

I don't give out specific route information, my belief is that it takes away from the whole adventure spirit of a trip, if you need every inch planned out, you'll have to get that from someone else.

Have a safer backcountry experience by using the HST ReConn Form 2.0, named after Larry Conn, a HST member: http://reconn.org
