Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. We loved this story about how the stripes on zebras repel biting flies. Now if it will only work on mosquitoes, we're ready to paint up!

The horses wearing coats with striped patterns experienced fewer horse fly landings compared to when they wore single-color coats.
I was above Sabrina Lake and it was hot and there was a mosquito infestation. A hiker came up to me wearing a jacket, long pants, wool hat and said it's really nice when you no longer get bitten. Zebra coats anyone? Thanks Paul for sharing this article! :)

Super article, Paul; has anyone tried this? Does it work on backpackers? Dogs? Or does one need to hire the stooges to run interference? Cameron
