Trip Story: White Mountains Backpack July 2>3, 2006

Post by SSSdave »

Image

This last Independence Day period, a friend and I did a two day backpack into the White Mountains in order to photography some amazing ancient trees. Note I've already posted the story on some other sites. The above image of a large bristlecone pine snag is part of our trip with other images on the story page that one can select from my homepage at:

Yes I liked that image alot too which was taken by my Coolpix. However the similar image I shot with my 4x5 unfortunately suffered from ballhead creep downward so the background between the hole ended up cut off halfway. It was quite difficult position for my bulky view camera jammed up against the trunk so I was barely able to get my head in position to look into the groundglass. We are certain to return, maybe this fall, and I will nail it then. ...David
