Boundary Peak

Post by Mtflyer »

Last weekend Sooz and I hiked to the summit Boundary Peak from Queen Canyon Saddle. I tried this hike last year, but was forced to turn around 1000 feet from the top by a lightning storm (really scary :paranoid: ). This time had great weather with clear blue skies all day  . Boundary at 13,140 feet is the highest peak in Nevada. We did plan to continue on to Montgomery Peak but didn’t have it in us by the time we reach the first summit. I haven’t done any difficult hikes lately or been at altitude for awhile, so I was moving really slow on the steep stuff. We also check out a few mines and Janie’s Ranch on the way out.
