Not really but maverick thought the attached photos of small islands in Bering Sea off St. Matthew Island resembled the Minarets. My son Matt (definitely not a saint) e-mailed photos from CGC Alex Hailey.

Very cool! Is that a man-made structure at the top, or just a very symmetrical peak?

Bill

I don't think there is anything man made on that hunk of rock. I zoomed in and couldn't see anything.

Nice photos Mike - looks cold and bleak...impressive.
Is this where they shipped Matt, where he cannot do much damage?
BTW, with him gone, who is going to get the cocktail ice this summer?

Matt seems to be having a good time. They even let him drive the ship once in a while! That is really scary! Good question. I do remember Tehipite Tom fetching snow once when we were futilely flinging hardware at non existant fish in a godawful place to get to after you assured me there were fish to be had! Actually the only bum steer you have led me to.

I believe that information is classified. You know, I could tell you but ...

Must be getting senile my "must be a proud dad" friend.
As both Tom and I can attest to, you led that "godawful place to get to" leg of our opus trek, and only after we almost had to beat you senseless for almost "bum steering" us...as I recall you wanted to hike all the way down, lose another 1000 feet, before showing you the "right way" traverse on the map. Don't know why I like hiking with you. 5 or six more seasons and maybe re-evaluate how much grief I can take...
BTW, where are we going next year?

My friend!
Now you are rewriting history again!

Still working on next years gettogether. Have tentative lake picked but it may be too much for you unless you start seriously working out! :D
