Me, too. The only ones I recognized right off were the blue-eyed grass (the fifth flower in the first sequence, or so I think) and of the course the nasturtium (first one). Do you know what the others were?

Thanks, Duane, B2 & Skibum!

The flowers have names now, thanks to Greg, cdandherm, and B-Squared!

There's a big wildfire in SB now, close to where we hiked. :(

The fire was moving into the upper part of Cold spring canyon this afternoon, if it continues to move like it has the last few days by tomorrow it will have burned Montecito Peak, Not as windy tonight so it will slow down, but that area hasn't burned in over forty years so there is a lot of dry fuel. It is chapparal so it is designed to burn and come back, and the transition years as it comes back are interesting to watch.
I just hope the fire will spare the houses and lives. The firefighters here working this fire are taking huge risks protecting the houses - truly heroic men and women

Let's make that, "so it has evolved to burn and come back..." :D

You are absolutely right, poor choice of words on my part.
The weather has turned cooler and less windy which is a huge help to the firefighters. If they can keep the fire away from the homes, it would be good for the brush to burn to remove the unnatural fuel build-up.

Bringing back days old, my 11 years at UCSB. Have two grandkids living there so the fire is a real issue. My ex's daughter and son and law were evacuated for a day or 2 and the grand kids school was closed on friday because of the fire. All are safe and really quite far from the fire barring a super Santa Ana wind event.

I gotta tell you though the rack of lamb really got to me!

Cheers

Mike
