Another short hike away from the crowds

Revisit to the corkscrew tree. I was led here several years ago by a Friend who was a forest service employee who did forest inventory.This tree and all behind it are growing out of a lava flow.

That lava looks familiar. I was amazed at the lava west of Bend...a wonderful area.

This flow is s of Bend about 5 miles e. of 97 on a Forest Service Road then another mile on an abandoned 2 Track.
