I'll be in Mexico, please plan another one soon.
I already had something scheduled on that day. However, it's a great idea
so I'm all for planning another one
.
Will do. We have 4 or 5 interested in attending so far.

I don't give out specific route information, my belief is that it takes away from the whole adventure spirit of a trip, if you need every inch planned out, you'll have to get that from someone else.

I am going to pass on this one. A bit to far out of my way for such a short hike. I would definitely be interested in a weekend trip, say at Point Reyes or even a longer all-day hike, such as Mt Diablo.

I'll be in Point Reyes with some friends over New Years. I've gone for get togethers with folks from forums before as well. Coe or Yosemite are also good for such ventures.

Yeah, kind of figured you would not be attending WD, it is a long ride for a 1.5 hr hike. Wanted to keep this one short and simple to see what kind of turnout there would be, it is more about Bay Area HST members getting to meet each other and possibly forming friendships with future backpacking trips into the Sierra together. :)

A few notes for those not familiar with Mission Peak Regional Preserve.
It is easy to extend hikes by climbing Mission Peak itself or traversing one of the other trails too for those that might want a longer hike to make the drive more worthwhile. See the park map at http://www.ebparks.org/Assets/_Nav_Cate ... ak+map.pdf .
Ohlone College does not charge for parking on Sundays (and Holidays) so we can head up to the parking garage if we want. See http://www.ohlone.edu/core/mapsdirs/parking/hours.html for parking hours. Parking at Ohlone is a good way to avoid the parking mess at the Stanford Ave. staging area.

Our hike was a success, anytime you get to spend 2 hours meeting and hiking with fellow HST members, I would consider a success!
The weather was great, our hike was moderate in its intensity. Got to meet Peaksandpotatoes, Sli, and Dave_Ayers, all who were wonderful people and I hope to go on future hikes in the area and some Sierra backpacking trips too.
