Thanks for posting. In the days before canisters, I used to put my food on a sheer cliff or on top of a big sheer erratic and never lost anything. Good thing Sierra bears didn't try to climb like this. My wife, son, and I went down Santa Elena Canyon with her father in the 1990s. The only wildlife we saw besides lots of birds was a wild pig crossing the Rio Grande from one side of the border to another, prompting lots of illegal immigrant jokes.

Nice Russ. Next time I go to Big Bend I'll be a bit more aware of more than snakes!
