Wow! Great story. I recognize one of the buildings in the b & w photo behind the "Popemobile".

I bet that was a gnarly adventure.....even with the equipment we have today....it would be a gnarly adventure.......WOW thanks for sharing!!!!

Wow, what an adventure. Quite ambitious, especially for 1958. I am impressed.

I did the Yosemite High Route in May of 2005. Our trip was a piece of cake weather wise compared to their trip. Check out the picture "Starting out along the power lines near June Lake"
