Vertical Cure Ski-a-thon for Scleroderma Research

Vertical Cure is an event developed to create awareness of Scleroderma as well as raise money for the rare tissue disease. Each participant is challenged to collect pledges based on vertical feet they ski during the event. The event idea was created by Chris Corman and Phil Delurgio while riding up a ski lift in Whistler. Both of their mom's suffer from the rare Scleroderma disease. 2008 was our most successful event - raising $30,000 - and having a great time doing it. Thanks to all who sponsored us!

The day before and the day after Vertical Cure

Photos from Friday and Sunday, before and after Vertical Cure Ski-a-thon. Friday was a 'loosen up the legs' day on the slopes. I had tentative plans for Sunday, but Cingular sux, so didn't get messages. But it turned out to be a great day on the slopes. Surprisingly, everything felt great. Legs were tired while walking, but riding was full speed!

Hardly anyone on the slopes, I enjoyed the day without crowds and lines!

It was wonderful having the slopes to myself. I felt good and confident about Vertical Cure tomorrow

Went to pick up the altimeter watch, t-shirt and goody bag. Terry drove up Friday night

Met up with friends at Nevado's for one drink

Went out for a few runs, which ended up being a whole day. Was going to try to meet up with Quandary, but Cingular sux, so his call didn't get thru til 9:30pm! He ran into Moose, so he stayed busy!

Great weekend! Nothing hurt and I even cancelled my appointment with my chiropractor! :D SnowDude was with me, but spent a lot of time watching basketball. His team won (KS) so he was one happy dude!

Thanks Mtflyer, Rosabella, hikerduane, LarBear, KathyM, TomG, tomcat, trailtrekker, ridgeline, trailbud, Trekker and Rachel for your support! =D>
