Interesting article about avalanche school from the perspective of an intermediate skier. Reading the article won't prepare you for avalanches, but it talks a little about group decision making and is very well written.

And in case you have not seen it before, a great article about an avalanche and the group decision making process and the after effects of an avalanche, highly recommended.
