Forum Changes

Instead of emailing or messaging the Admins or Mods with technical support questions or comments about the site, we prefer you check here to see if someone else has had the same difficulty or has made the same suggestion. What you're after might have already been posted and addressed here or within the FAQ. If not, please post a detailed description of the problem/suggestion and someone from the HST team will address your needs shortly. If you can't login/post and are unable to reset your password on your own, you may contact us directly.

Forum Changes

Post by ERIC »

We recently upgraded our forum software and since that time have been experiencing an increase in spam registrations and postings. A new template has been installed and is currently being tested to see if the increase is possibly template related. Please be patient while we try to work through this issue.

Thank you

Thanks for all you do. This forum is a huge asset to many people, and it goes without saying we appreciate all the work you do. But I'll say it anyway! :)

Looks great so far.

Thanks, Roo. Since having kids (and admittedly even a little before that) I've personally not been doing enough to keep things up. We're fortunate to have an excellent Admin/Mod team who have been doing a great job of keeping things tidy in the forums and who even managed to develop an awesome tool in the High Sierra Map.

We're working on developing a new front end to the site and my goal is to have that up and running by summer.

Thanks again for your support!

Nice update Boss!

I do miss the old "pine green" background though...too much white?

I like the update too, but do agree, it's a bit bright.

I don't give out specific route information, my belief is that it takes away from the whole adventure spirit of a trip, if you need every inch planned out, you'll have to get that from someone else.

Colors will change. As I said in the OP, this is just a temporary solution for the purposes of testing whether or not our old theme was to blame for increased spam.

I am amazed that you were able to do this with so few glitches. Big props to you for doing so!
