2014 Member Meet-up 7/22-7/27

A forum to initiate member meet-up. Looking for a hiking/climbing/fishing/skiing/etc. partner, or are you planning a trip where you wouldn't mind having some company? Last minute invites can be just as fun as a well-planned group trip (sometimes even better) so don't be shy! And be sure to post a trip report to the appropriate forum when you get back.

Maybe the next meetup should be organized in the sensitive fishing reports section?

It is fine here in this section Jim, don't want HST members considering coming next year
thinking that fishing is the main objective of the Meet-up. It is one of many, but the most
important is that were doing this in the spirit of what HST stands for, which basically is
our love for the Sierra Mountain Range, getting to witness it, and enjoy it as a community
and with one another.

I don't give out specific route information, my belief is that it takes away from the whole adventure spirit of a trip, if you need every inch planned out, you'll have to get that from someone else.

Here's an overview of the route that Jim and I took and the sights we had the chance to see.

Great story and pictures! I especially appriciate the images on the east side of Shepards pass since I hope to be on that trail in late September.

Great photos, Schmalz.

Your camp in Wrights Basin - was that Hobbes' "pothole lake"? Or a different one?

Thank you Schmalz! Your photos are beautiful. I was in Kaweah Basin earlier that week and your photos take me right back there. Your pano of Wales Lake gives a great view of the whole area, making it another 'must see' place in the Sierra:)
