Topix Carcamp Sept 29-30

A forum to initiate member meet-up. Looking for a hiking/climbing/fishing/skiing/etc. partner, or are you planning a trip where you wouldn't mind having some company? Last minute invites can be just as fun as a well-planned group trip (sometimes even better) so don't be shy! And be sure to post a trip report to the appropriate forum when you get back.

Depends on whether you really want a campsite that takes reservations. I know what some people are looking for in a campsite, and with most reservable cg's it's not going to happen. One exception could be the (gasp, not again!) Rock Creek area. Otherwise we'll have to do it on a walk-in basis.

Wow! Who would have guessed they would have booked up already... especially for dates after school starts.

I'm game for anything.... if we decide to do the "walk in" thing somewhere - I'm planning on leaving the San Diego area early Friday Morning, so (hopefully) I'll be able to get a couple spots for the weekend, if we can't reserve.

Is anybody up for a short backpack? Like we did last year to Matlock Lake? Or do we want to keep it a car camp?

Or the lower campgrounds on the way up to Onion Valley? What is it, Grey's Meadow or something like that?
