High Sierra Trail - June 21 - Seeking a companion

A forum to initiate member meet-up. Looking for a hiking/climbing/fishing/skiing/etc. partner, or are you planning a trip where you wouldn't mind having some company? Last minute invites can be just as fun as a well-planned group trip (sometimes even better) so don't be shy! And be sure to post a trip report to the appropriate forum when you get back.

High Sierra Trail - June 21 - Seeking a companion

Post by Lenier »

I have a permit for 2 to begin the HST on June 21. I intend to do the trail in 5-6 days, at the most 7.

Have you spoken to any rangers regarding the rattlesnake fire closure around kern hot springs and whether or not that is or is going to be lifted?

It was removed from the trails condition page some time ago, while one other closure remains, so I'm not concerned.

Additionally, the wildfire closure map no longer shows any closures save for Dillonwood Grove - the same singular closure on the aforementioned trails condition page.
