Looking for Blowdown beta "along" the Sierra High Route

Post by chrisdiercks »

I guess you got to take the good with the bad: A low snow year means an easier run on the high route; The downed logs means "log hopping" in addition to all the boulder hopping I would be doing anyway. I've seen the maps put out on the Inyo National Forest web site last updated June 25th. So a couple things would be very useful to me.

1) who has been along the affected trail sections and how bad is it now.

2) How far west does the damage go. In particular, due west of Thousand Island Lake.

ANY real beta is appreciated. I already have my permit and need to decide how to best proceed. Thanks in advance.
