Live in Washington state but grew up in Clovis. Growing up dad took us to GCC for a week or two every summer. Haven’t been back since late 80’s/early 90’s. Is there still a trail across the bridge that takes you up to Cattle? Mountain and down to Sheep’s Crossing?

I walked across the good bridge at Sheep Crossing a few years ago. We had dayhiked from Mammoth.

The dirt roads and trails have changed a little since the USGS topo maps were made.

Thanks for the reply. I’ve been as far as Sheep Crossing. Thinking about trying for Iron Lake and maybe make a loop hike via Hemlock Crossing.

This is a good trail for a Trans-Sierra Dayhike. You get one small group going east from Granite Creek, and they finish at Horseshoe Lake near Mammoth. Then the second small group goes west from Horseshoe Lake and finishes at Granite Creek. Each group drives home the vehicle of the other group.
