SEKI Campground Closure

Post by maverick »

SEKI NP:
Azalea Campground in Grant Grove is closed until further notice, as park crews work to remove hazard trees before the busy summer season. Drought years and a heavy snowfall have caused a large number of dead trees that may drop a limb or fall over at any time. The campground will reopen as safety conditions permit.

Campers should instead consider heading to Potwisha Campground or Buckeye Flat Campground, located in the Foothills area of the parks. Visit the park website at https://www.nps.gov/seki/planyourvisit/conditions.htm or call (559) 565-3341 for up to date road and weather conditions.

I don't give out specific route information, my belief is that it takes away from the whole adventure spirit of a trip, if you need every inch planned out, you'll have to get that from someone else.

Have a safer backcountry experience by using the HST ReConn Form 2.0, named after Larry Conn, a HST member: http://reconn.org
