Avalanche Creek fire?

Post by mort »

I saw this post:
viewtopic.php?f=34&t=18825#p139647
I looked at calfire (http://www.fire.ca.gov/current_incidents) and inciweb (https://inciweb.nwcg.gov/) and
the SEKI fire page: https://www.nps.gov/seki/learn/nature/current_fires.htm all say nothing.
On the EOSDIS page: https://worldview.earthdata.nasa.gov/?p ... 4534729022
With fire detection turned on it shows a hot spot in the Avalanche Creek area. The WebSky simulation shows it too:
https://tools.airfire.org/websky/v1/run ... 00/#viewer
I think there is a fire there, but nobody is fighting it?

It's called the North Bubbs Creek Fire, received advisory from SEKI on SAT, and then posted it here:

I don't give out specific route information, my belief is that it takes away from the whole adventure spirit of a trip, if you need every inch planned out, you'll have to get that from someone else.

Have a safer backcountry experience by using the HST ReConn Form 2.0, named after Larry Conn, a HST member: http://reconn.org

Thank you, I saw that post, but the Rae Lakes loop reference and starting date of Aug 1 made me think it was a different fire.
