For Anyone going up this weekend, the National Whether Service has posted the following advisory:

...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 5 AM FRIDAY TO 5 AM PDT SATURDAY ABOVE 8000 FEET...

* WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations above 8000 feet of 1 to 3 inches, with localized amounts up to 6 inches, are
expected.

* WHERE...Mt Rose, Carson, Ebbetts, Sonora and Tioga passes and high elevation hiking trails around the Lake Tahoe area, Alpine County and Mono County.

* WHEN...From 5 AM Friday to 5 AM PDT Saturday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Plan on hazardous driving conditions over the high Sierra passes. Be prepared for reduced visibility,
chain controls at times. Plan on alternate route if you have travel plans over Ebbetts, Sonora and Tioga passes.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Even light snowfall causes travel delays, especially during holiday weekends. Be sure to allow extra time to reach your destination. Leave extra space between vehicles since it takes longer to stop on slick roadways. The latest road conditions can be obtained by calling 5 1 1.
