Mosquitoes were pretty much a 1 from the LLV trailhead to upper Pioneer Basin. I didn't use bug juice once and came back with only two bites, so there must have been a couple of stealth ninja mosquitoes doing the rounds.

Horseshoe Meadows-South Fork Lakes-Long Lake-New Army Pass-Miter Basin-Lower Soldier Lake-Cottonwood Pass

0-1 the entire trip. And with very little wind. Even in the wet meadows of Upper Rock Creek. Total non-factor.

Beck Lakes Trail: 1
Beck Lakes: 1
Upper Iron Creek Drainage: 1
Upper Dike Creek Drainage: 1
Above Ediza Lake, Iceberg Lake, Cecille Lake, Minaret Lake: 1

Basically no issue with mosquitos the entire trip. Only the swampiest area had enough to be annoying. I didn't use DEET the entire trip.

Twin Lakes/Peeler Lake: 1
Buckeye Canyon/Smedberg Lake: 1
Matterhorn Canyon: 2
Robinson Lakes/Crown Lake: 2

No need for repellent this trip, guess the smoke is keeping them away!

Mono Pass to Alger Lakes 1-2
Alger Lakes to Clark Lakes 2
Clark Lakes to ~1.5 miles N of Donahue Pass 1
Lyell Canyon 2

Hiked Mono Pass to TM 7.29 to 8.2. Was glad I had repellant, but could have coped without it. Only mosquitos I noticed were during water breaks on trail in forested areas between Gem Lake and Clark Lakes and portions of Lyell Canyon (lower). Also, our last camp in Lyell Canyon had some level 2 (light) in the afternoon/evening when we arrived. Never saw enough skeeters to deter swimming.

South Lake / Bishop Pass / Dusy Basin / Palisades Basin

Level 1 at all locations (except in the campground near South Lake), very few flying pests. Some mosquitoes came out right before sunset, but left with the sun. Did not need much repellant.

Level 1 all three areas, a few flying insects but no bites, brought repellant and a headnet but did not use either one.

Mosquitoes level 1 all the way, elevations 7,600 to 10,600 feet. Basically, saw about 5 mosquitoes on the entire week trip. Those little gnats that hang out in front of your face were more annoying (only in damp forest areas).
