Along trail snow in shade shows above 7700. Lots of patchy snow above that with much soggy wet areas from draining snow melt most everywhere. Note above 7.5k many mid summer camp spots are flooded or soggy. West slopes of Mount Tallac only a few bands of snow left even to top. However lots of snow in northern exposures behind Heather Lake and in distance above Lake Aloha solid snowfields below Mt Price and Pyramid Peak crest. Minor numbers of early summer season wildflowers in sunnier aspects below 8k and about all aspects below 7.5k with much greenery just now rising Fragrant ceanothus blooming all over. Much brightly colorful penstemon newberryi blooming along trails. Saw active marmots, pikas, chipmunks, sage grouse at 7800 feet and 2 porcupines at Glen Alpine Springs.
