I do believe that with El Nino, the southland (LA) is going to get slammed.

We're gettin' slammed alright. It's been in the upper 90F for the last couple of days. And I'm only a few miles from the beach. The coolest place in the vicinity.

Marmots, which live above the tree line in the High Sierra, have already gone into hibernation near the Sierra crest in Yosemite National Park.

This would be news to the marmots we saw every day last week in upper Hutchings Creek, the Lyell Fork Merced headwaters, and the Florence lakes basin.

Yea, remember both of the last two winters there was a system out in the Pacific and forecasters were telling everyone to prepare for a '97 like flood. Both times it just floated by with no precip at all.

When he first came to power and before the world realized how wacky he is, Vladimir Putin forced a law through the Duma. Russian weather forecasters had to predict with 95% accuracy or better; failure to do so results in prison. Who knows, we may have someone with a similar style in 13 months.

Don't see your point. It's no secret that El Nino never gives evenly across the state. But that doesn't necessarily mean it's a dud.

Lakes Sonoma and Mendocino look pretty bad, too. Perhaps you should also ask Sonoma County Water Agency to stop sending water South to Petaluma.

I'm on a well. Everything right now looks like a dry mudhole.

How much water was actually captured in the last storm, South-wise?
