North Fork Big Pine Creek - In November

Am I being ambitious?

I was up there twice this summer and dayhiked around, but haven't had a schedule opening for an overnighter up there until right about now. I'd really like to be up there when the aspen and other trees change color, but I think it's too late for that now. (Got a report of the trees by Lee Vining in full fall color this past weekend ~ 7,500').

We have 10 deg bags and liners if necessary. Don't really want to get snowed on, but if it happens it happens. So... what do you think the conditions will be in two weeks? What will the foliage look like?!!!!

Past their peak, and no way anyone can tell you what the weather/conbitions will
like be in 2 weeks, especially in October.
I don't give out specific route information, my belief is that it takes away from the whole adventure spirit of a trip, if you need every inch planned out, you'll have to get that from someone else.

Agree, peak was 2 weeks ago up here in Mammoth Lakes area - 8 - 9,000 feet .
Spectacular but a short-lived leaf season...still some good yellows here and there (Aspens) but the reds are mostly but a memory.

Yeaaaah. I figured I missed the peak. And, what, with the new snow it's likely to be all monochromatic and stuff. :D
