Rae Lakes Loop 5/31

On May 31 My friend and I did the Rae Lks. Loop (yep, one day). Plenty of water in major rivers and streams. Also, plenty of water in run off on side streams. We didn't need to carry water. We hit the first snow on the switchbacks above Vidette about 10,500. Solid snow above 11,000 at Bullfrog all the way over the pass until we got back down to Rae Lks. Then completely clear of snow after that. Rae Lks. just about ice free. I only took a quick glance at Kearsarge Pass, but I didn't see any snow. No skeeters unless you just hung out in a wet meadow. Perfect weather, not hot or cold, no clouds. Saw a few PCTers. Tartan told me he thought about 100 had already been that far. Didn't see anyone on the loop outside of Paradise Valley (except for a few PCTers). That's all I can think of.

Hi Cascade,

Welcome to HST! That's a long haul in a day, thanks for posting this info. Have any
photos from the top of the pass? What time did you reach Glen Pass?
PM sent.
