Onion Valley/Kearsarge Pass

Post by bravefanla »

Hi All,
Does anyone have any info on the road to Onion Valley parking lot and the trail to Kearsarge Pass? I want to get in one more trip before the snow, lots of it hopefully, closes things down for the year.

Hi Bravefania,

Welcome to HST!
Here are the road conditions: http://www.fs.usda.gov/detailfull/inyo/ ... width=full" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Here is a youtube video taken back in the middle of Sept: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gAwepr5xKkU" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I don't give out specific route information, my belief is that it takes away from the whole adventure spirit of a trip, if you need every inch planned out, you'll have to get that from someone else.

Maverick,
Thanks for the reply. I'd call the Ranger Station in Lone Pine but due to the government shutdown I'm sure they're not open.

Please post what you find and conditions if you go. I am hoping to get up there 10/12 to climb University
