TITLE: Mt. Barcroft

GENERAL OVERVIEW: This is a peak even an armchair mountaineer can summit. It is located in the White Mountain range just south of California's third largest peak. The hike is an easy one with a 1300 foot elevation gain

CLASS/DIFFICULTY: 1

LOCATION: The White Mountains Wilderness is a 229,993 acre wilderness and is jointly administered by the Inyo National Forest and the Bureau of Land Management Bishop and Ridgecrest Field Offices. HST Map

ELEVATION: 13,040 feet

USGS TOPO MAP (7.5'): USGS WHITE MOUNTAIN PEAK Quad, California, Topographic Map

ROUTE DESCRIPTION: The trailhead is at the locked Barcroft gate on the road to the White Mountain Research Center. Follow the road north and veer off toward the summit at your leisure. The hike to the summit is slightly more than 2 miles.
