Another data point for deciding whether to and how to tackle Longley Pass: This is how we did it in the last week of August 2019. East side to west side. We went up to the pass on the north end, hiked along the edge (easy), and looped around the south end of the cornice. Simple.

I would have very gladly gone down a class 3 situation like you show here, but I am reasonably sure it was covered in snow when I visited it. No way did the exposed northern part I saw look like your photo. The cornice also does not look so overhanging. What I saw looked like a very vertical Snow-Tongue type of sketchy loose-rock descent.
