Better to downsize to a web sized image for thread display then provide a link to any large image for those willing to bother. Not only does a large image take a long time to display each time one visits the page but tends to make a mess of browser frames depending on forum software and browser used.

Like Dave mentioned, down size them, otherwise most folks will move on before
even seeing the photo's.

I don't give out specific route information, my belief is that it takes away from the whole adventure spirit of a trip, if you need every inch planned out, you'll have to get that from someone else.
