Lobster roll or Brats with caramelized onions?

Postby rlown » Fri Jul 03, 2015 10:59 am

So, If you were going on an annual trip with good friends, and you had to cook the first meal (only 3 people so far), and had to drive through a hot central valley and then walk 7 miles before you get to your destination, (yeah, i know, lots of commas) what would you pick? The immediate response from one attendee was, "bring a big cut of meat". ok. I've been looking around and thinking. maybe too much.

Lobster rolls or Brats? or?

I need ice.. either way.

Take a couple frozen or partially frozen New York or T-Bones steaks, seal them in some freezer bags, and put them between some pieces of dry ice.

Personally I would prefer brats. But I guess it really depends on who's going....

I recommend Hebrew National Dinner Dogs, and a spicy red jalapeño mustard. Brats need to be boiled in beer brine first, are you prepared for that too?

Some dog/sausage w/sauerkraut, and horseradish mustard.

K. I'm going with that, Mav. Liked the sauerkraut touch. Freestone, you're not far off the mark, either! And yes, I'm prepared for anything.
