My inbox messages have been removed/deleted?

Post by dpmach »

When i logged into my account this morning, all my inbox messages have been deleted. I didnt delete them. Is there a certain days the messages can be stored before getting deleted?

Hmmm...that's strange. No, your messages should stay there until you decide to delete them. The only restriction is the total number of messages:

Inbox = 50 max
Sent folder = 25 max
Saved folder = 50 max

Were the messages from one or more members? Are your sent items gone, too?

Yup, inbox, outbox, sent items are all gone. I chose 1 year option for every box and still nothing is in there.  and there's only about 5 messages in my inbox. They are regarding the location and info of the Pine Creek trip i'll be taking this coming week. :crybaby:

Ouch. First time I've heard of that happening. Please check your PM inbox. I sent you a message. Hope it gets there... :p

Well, I'm stumped at the moment...
Checked your account. As you said, they appear to be gone. Very, very strange.
I hate to ask obvious questions (and please don't take offense), but there are a few possibilities I must eliminate before I look into this further by contacting the software designers:

1) Are you sure you do not have two accounts? If so, the PM's could be on the other account.
2) Are you sure you did not accidentally hit the "delete all" button at some point?
3) Is it possible someone else might have access to your username/password?

The reason I have to ask these simple questions is due to the fact that in the 5 years of using this software, this is the first time I have ever even heard of this happening to someone (this forum, or any other using the same software). Additionally, I find it odd that the loss of PM's only happened to your account, and nobody else's.

Is there a particular PM, one with a unique name or phrase, that I can attempt to query the database for to see if it's still on there somewhere?

Get back to me, and we'll see if we can get to the bottom of this quickly.

Regarding the three possibilities:

1. I know for sure i do not have 2 accounts.

2. I've just realized that there is a "delete all" button  I do ever recall pressing that button.

3. I'm the only who uses this account in the family.

If there's nothing else you can do. It's alright. It's not a big deal. Thanks for your help anyway.

If you do want to search/query. The messages that I've recieved were from KathyW. they're regarding Pine Creek Trail and/or bear cannister. Hope that helps. Lets say if i were to delete all the messages, would that also have deleted all the sent messages and the ones in the outbox?
