Hi Ifernau
Which camera did you have before you 5D? I read alot of peoples
postings on dpreview about how they want a 5D for the 35mm wide
angle for landscape photography.
I opted for the 30D. Cost less and the 10-22mm gives as wide as I
will need plus the extra (x1.6) reach on the long end. I considered that
the best of both worlds.

Its ok, version 2.0. When I first started using it I hated it, but have warmed up to it a little just because I can easliy change white balances in it before saving to tiff. I don't use any other of the postprocessing features, they are all pathetic compared to photoshop. For software, its a little slow, but I give it the benefit of doubt because it is working with huge files. And it has crashed on me occasionally. Heck, I'd write my own conversion software but a) don't know and don't have the time to figure out the white balance algorithms and b) the canon cr2 raw file format is proprietary.maverick wrote:Hi Trailblazer
How do you like working with DPP? Do you have 2.1.

I shoot mostly jpeg now, usually save RAW for low light or when I need lots of flexibility on the back end. I use Canons software to get my tiffs and then make adjustment in PhotoShop CS2. I’ve only had CS2 for a few weeks, 2 feature I really like in Image Adjustment are; “Shadow / Highlight” and “Match Color”, really a big help with flat images and color cast.
