PatrickQuin - Your picture is the epitome of fishing! Absolutely breathtaking dusk shot!

Windknot - I enjoyed your post imensely;this very subject has caught my attention as of late!
So, I was wondering if I could get a critic from you (and anyone else whom might care too). I don't have any crazy fancy photography equipment but, don't get me wrong, I love my Nikon CoolPix S620 - its small, lightweight & can take a surprisingly great picture. Thanks in Advance for your critic!

Evan,
Nice fish, however I still feel any great fish picture should tell more of a complex story.
Hands and fish are great, but back it off some - wider. Those shots could be anywhere...give me something more Sierra to dream about...granite, sky, maybe the lake itself.

Having a kid in the picture really matters to me.
This was Mike Carter lure fishing on the Kern River above the Forks. He so loved (loves) backpacking.

To see Mike grown up see "Sierra Inspirational Photothon".

Not a great composition. But grandpa felt pretty good about taking 2 grandkids backpacking and fishing with no responsible adult supervision! Note that girls fish, too!

Thanks for sharing, guys. These pictures remind me that I've got to dig up some older shots my dad has of me fishing when I was much younger.

My 2 boys caught these fish and we ate all of them. Like me, they love to eat fish.
