any pic with your dog in it is good enough for me.. oh, and yes, the background is nice as well.
Thank you, I often laugh about the fact that every photo i post contains either my dog or a fish. It's good to know atleast someone enjoys these two things the way i do...
I know it is off topic. I had that realization earlier... Now I'm realizing i don't think i've actually read all the other 4 pages of gear talk in this thread...i feel both a little guilty and proud of myself in that realization...

I think this may be more of what MK was getting at John...i for one always find your Ice Skating photos to be pure amazing... And in my view of it all, right down the road of what photography (and "art") is about... Life lived.

BTW. That 3rd one, i keep seeing a crane, oragami swan.

Other than "Monarch Divide" converted to BW, absolutely nothing!

As the thread starter, I must say that I have absolutely no problem with the way this topic has taken on a life of its own. In fact, toward my goal of wanting to learn High Sierra photography and becoming inspired to bring home something better than boring snapshots, this thread couldn't be more pleasing to me than if I had planned it this way.

MK, even though I didn't have a solid handle on what you meant at first, I believe that the photo responses have been excellent, and inspiring, and gave you what you were looking for -- and also gave me food for thought.

My new Canon T1i finally arrives Thursday, and I can't wait to begin practicing all of what this thread has inspired me to try.

Thanks all. You guys and gals truly are artists, craftsmen and excellent communicators. It's been great.

Dave

btw Pat, though it is a grand landscape, I really like your treatment in "eastern Oregon", very nice.
