I spent a few days camped up at South Lake late last December (that was a wierd trip - the lake was just freezing over and was making some astoundingly loud, whale singing type songs). I didn't get any priceless photos, but here are a few shots... (more can be found here: http://www.cco.caltech.edu/~cope/photo/SLST.html

Cool Trailblazer, I've been wanting to do a winter base camp at South Lake or Sabrina. A few years back I started off early at the South Lake trailhead and ran into a pretty cool full moon setting over South Lake.

Amazing stuff. I actually posted this when we were first interested in purchasing Parchers and the concession at South Lake last fall.....almost ready to get started on our first season now, I thank my lucky stars I'll be fortunate enough to wake up to that scenery every day for the next 7 months.........ahhhhhhhhhhhhh.

peace,

You are lucky and I am soooooo jealous :unibrow: :^o that you will be so close to this beauty. I miss the Eastern Sierra views and most likely take my first trip back there for this year sometime in May.
