Super Nice Photograph Maverick!
That is one of the most clear shots of the Vernon basin and it's lakelets I have seen.
Looks like you were on your way up the falls into Branigan Lake.
Do you have any pictures of the Branigan Lakes as well?
Hey, I have found one Photo I took looking back in the direction you took yours!

Those are really cool photos Maverick! I always stopped at Branigan and wondered what lies beyond. If I am not mistaken the gap in the distance of that first photo leads out to the trail between Paradise meadow and Tilden canyon. I always meant to come in to the Branigan lakes that way but am in a hurry(WHY?!) to go someplace else. Your photos convince me I need to make the Branigan Lakes chain a priority.
I wonder what kind of a trail that would make? Hetchhetchy to Vernon, Vernon to Branigan lks, Branigan lks out the backdoor to Paradise meadow.
As opposed to the death march over Moraine ridge and down the Golden stairs. Or from Vernon up Falls Creek in Jack Main Canyon.
Intriguing.
I dig that one of frozen Miwok. I always like the "popsicle" lakes... Lakesicles!
Thanks Maverick. You have inspired me for a future cross country trek! :D

Here is a picture of that sneaky back door to Upper Branigan from The Paradise/Tilden trail (By the way you can't miss this because the trail does a hairpin 180 right at this spot):
