something slightly different - Doug Sr.'s finest creation: the infamous Whitney Portal Store Mooseburger with the obligatory two plates of fries. It is not on the menu any longer, but rumor has it that you just need to ask for it...

Seeing that photo 45 minutes before lunchtime is cruel and unusual punishment.

Now why would thieves want to break into this building? To steal two rolls of toilet paper and some DEET?

above starburst picture brought to mind this photo from last summer. I think I haven't posted it before. Heading up to Bishop Past on the east side, with the early morning sun creeping across the top of the Inconsolable Range. Aperture Peak and Mt. Agassiz in the center ahead. Bishop Pass is hidden behind the ridge right of Mt. Agassiz.

Was in Sequoia yesterday looking for some bears, found a total of SEVEN. Four bear cubs, and three adults. This family I've been following since last July. Pretty awesome to see the babies growing and the mother being back to normal size. Last year these bears were born.

First spark of warmth on a chilly morning along the Muir Trail. Near Sunrise Creek in Yosemite. July 2010.

A brief moment of morning light on Mt. Stanford and Gregorys Monument from north of Forester Pass - 30 minutes later we were covered in inches of hail. Mid July 2014, when the monsoon was coming in strong.
