Dude! Yer images are really farout... and man, you know, like, that is, I'm shur, ALL of our opinions man!

We especially love your "Island in the sun" picture, and the earlier shot of the approach to Forester Pass. Are you using a 4x5, or what?

Am I right that the "memorable" piece of JMT is the cliffy bit on the way up Forester? The part that turned around the spring PCT guys I'd heard about, who said they thought they would be killed? Your compositions are really fine man, and we appreciate all the beauty you provide on this thread. Please keep it up. The Harlens.

While hiking, I don't use anything super fancy - Nikon D810 with a kit zoom lens I got years back with a different body, plus an old fisheye lens from the 1980s

Trail is the last blasted switchback on the south ramp of Forester, just before it turns into the ravine that often remains snow covered deep into the summer. Not an issue last August, though. Not a spec of snow up there.

Panorama view from the top of Forester showing north and south approach valleys. Needs to be seen big on Flickr. 12 frame stitch with the cheap kit zoom lens making for a 175 megapixel image in the original size.

South side of Forester, with more than a spec of snow in May!

Yeah, that is the very top of the pass, just after the big ravine. The section my photo was taken is to the left of this view on the first long eastbound switchback.

The same spot in July 2010 from above

The first few switchbacks before the snow field

When standing on that same segment of switchbacks I can see the blasted section.

Entering the blasted section of the trail

Right in between those two areas is the most dangerous part of the pass in winter

At least one snow field we don't have to cross in 2010
