A few from Yosemite

Was able to get away with the wife for a few days to Yosemite Valley. After the storms last week, many parts of the valley were covered in snow. Really a spectacular sight to see. The snowshoe out to Dewey Point was definitely a highlight.

Of course, I couldn't resist stopping at Tunnel View to watch the sunset, and in addition to the pictures of the sunset couldn't resist taking a picture of the line of photographers

That first shot is awesome Greg!

My in-laws went up on a whim for a hour or two. They didn't have chains and I guess there's a bunch of snow on the road and sidewalks. Also I guess the sidewalks had lots of ice...not very 'accessible' for me right now!

Hi TB
I have been thinking of taking a ride to the Valley in the next couple of weeks
myself.
Where did you and your wife stay? Tent , tent-cabin, or room?

We stayed at the Yosemite View Lodge in El Portal. My family has been staying there since I was a kid...depending upon the room and time you go it can get a bit pricey, but having a kitchenette, fireplace, and hearing the river at night is very nice (I will add a note to that and say this last stay there wasn't all that great and despite the number of times I've been that stay is making me reconsider where we will stay our next visit - a fireplace that stunk like gas in one room, then we moved to another room with a showerhead that didn't work, a stove that took 15 minutes to boil water, an ice machine that beeped all night nearby and a phone that didn't work). If it were up to me I'd sleep in the back of my truck (or better yet snowshoe somewhere nice for the night), but it wasn't up to me ;)

Thanks Tom. I took some of Dewey, but nothing all that dramatic. I hope to make it back sometime for a night's stay there and a second attempt.

Yep, that first shot is very good to say the least. I guess they were checking people at the bottom of the hill up to Glacier Point to make sure they were chained up if in a two wheel drive. R2 conditions. I guess I was there before they were checking people, I had no issues going up with caution in my pickup.

Thanks TB for the 411 on the place, it used to be a pretty descent alternative to the
Valley several years ago.
