This one is a little harder, but if you have been there, it should be easy.:)

Picture one, Columbine Lake, Chagoopa Plateau, Big Arroyo, Whitney group in distance, with the Kern River Canyon. Taken from Sawtooth Pass or ridge line towards Sawtooth Peak.

I think.

Pic 2........? Dunno, Soda Creek headwaters below Sawtooth Peak and Amphitheater Lake? The big unnamed lake to the east of Franklin Lakes via XC pass in the next bowl north of Lower Franklin Lake.

I think.

Nailed the first one exactly! On a traverse of the ridge to the summit from Sawtooth Pass.

You are in the right area with the second one. Try a bit more to the NE.:)

No. Very close to Franklin Lakes though. The view is looking south-southwest.

It looks like the above but is so dim and with a tele factor could be Forester maybe too. I camped LCL in September 1979 then went crosscountry to the lake 10569, then lake shallow lake 10479 where the turf was absolutely swarming with little froggies hopping everywhere, and then on to Amphitheatre Lake. But did not like that big barren rock hole so late afternoon climbed up over the very steep ridge, and past some dicy slabs on the west side to camp at the pond near Mineral Peak.

A few days ago I looked over plans I have to go back into that area some upcoming summer late July. Would hike up towards Sawtooth the first day. Next morning would go right past Columbine Lake which we have camped at in the past and I don't find too aesthetic, then down the canyon to a secret area for a couple days. Day 4 south cross country up the side of the canyon wall to "Toothbrush Lake" before, reaching beautiful Little Claire on day 5 where I'd stay for a layover. The area including the bench above Forester Lake has one of the most beautiful foxtail pine forests I've seen. From there would loop over Franklin Pass and back.
