My friend took me to Grand Canyon of the Tuolumne river last month. She simply had to show me Waterwheel falls during it's peak period. I was impressed.

Mav told us if we hit Tuolumne Falls around 5pm, we should see a rainbow.

Guess what time it was.

That is so cool! Is this a nice hike? I don't know much about it. How long/difficult for us mere mortals?

It's an easy and fairly popular trail hike. From Lembert dome in Tuolumne Meadow, it's about 10 miles down to Waterwheel falls. You pass about 3 sets of falls along the way. Early season you can expect flooding on the trail, so take some sort of water shoes. The trail between LeConte and Waterwheel falls had about a 1/4 mile flooded shin deep. You just wade through it. Easy peasy.
