Round Valley Mule Deer

Post by SierraVisions »

I have spent the last two morning out in Round Valley at the foot of Mt Tom shooting the Mule Deer. I thought you guys might like to see some of the better shots.
Last evening I took my in-laws out there and we counted over 75 deer in less than an hour. This morning my father in-law, uncle and I saw around 30 bucks. We also saw the biggest buck I have ever seen. It was at least a 5 point and possibly a 6 point. He was pretty far away from us and we had to look right into the sun to see him. We tried to drive to another vantage point to get a better look at him, but he vanished from sight. We are calling him the Phantom Buck. I'm heading out there again to try to find and photograph him.

Notice the Buck in the last two shots has lost his right eye. Most likely in a fight with another buck.

Happy New Year to you all!!
