Over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend my wife and I went to the Autry National Center (previously known as the Gene Autry Southwest Art Museum, or something like that) in Griffifth Park by Glendale. The exhibit is in 2 parts covering two time periods: 1860 or so through 1969, then 1969 through the present and focuses on artists' attempts to capture the beauty and essence of Yosemite Valley on canvas and film.
Wonderful works there to be seen, can't beat the subject matter. Runs until January 17, 2007 I believe.
Makes for a nice escape if you have the time and are in the neighborhood.
Happy Holidays!
