Anyone out there using the Fuji X100S in the backcounty? Seems like a good compromise between something lighter and a DSLR. It also appears a new model is forthcoming. I perfer manual cameras that remind me of my F2 and F3.

Did you get it? Not on my radar but I'm intrigued.

This little baby (X100T) a few weeks ago and so far I am very impressed. Only taken it on a few short day hikes here in desert with it but I think this will be great in the backcountry. It is a real camera with a real lens that you can put filters on. Plan to try it on Joshua Tree backpack in January.

I have the Fuji X-E1 which has a similar sensor (a little worse IQ than the X100S and T actually) and really enjoyed it while hiking with an ultrawide zoom on it. Little heavy, but way lighter than the dslr gear I used to use. Example photos: http://chufi.500px.com/2014_hoover_yosemite" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
