Compact camera without veiw finder ?

I have been looking at a few compact cameras for this coming season, and have noticed that some of them do not have view finders. That seems like it might be a problem while shooting on bright days. I was looking at the Canon sx700 specifically since I like canons picture quality and the wide angle lens combined with a pretty good telephoto. I forgot to look into battery life, but that is also a priority. I'm certainly not sold on that camera and am thinking the view finder will be a deal breaker. Any thoughts?

Well I suppose it all comes down to your eyes but I never use the view finder on my point and shoot cameras to take a photo. They aren't accurate to the composition. I also have not had a problem seeing the LCD when needed.
