Looking for Inspriation

It's freezing cold today up in Canada (I know that's considered the norm, but I'm one of the wusses who lives on the West Coast)

Anyway I'd love to warm up with some mountain pr0n. The Coast Mountains, Cascades & Rockies just don't do it for me anymore - I was looking for something a little different.

So could you suggest some good back country photographers (amateurs of course, the pros rarely do anything that isn't roadside) - alternatively could you suggest some specific searches - I'm a bit overwhelmed by the Sierras - specifically what areas are more scenic than others.

Thanks

Thanks larroyo33, this is exactly what I was looking for - its so hard to find quality, off-trail images.

The first time we came to the Sierras we climbed Half Dome

The second time, we came to ski

The inspiration for the third trip was images of Banner Peak (also tagged Big Pine Lakes), but the conditions were less than ideal (too much snow)

Thus a fourth trip was needed to finally appreciate the Ansel Adams Wilderness (Also tagged Dusy/Palisade Basins which were fantastic and Rae Lakes which were OK)

I really want to make a 5th trip, but I haven't found quite the one must see locale to anchor the itinerary.

Cheers!

If you want to see broad coverage of the Sierra backcountry by an amateur, some just snapshots but plenty of really nice photos, here's the guy and he's a member here (roguephotonic):

You can check out my backpacking site in my signature. The photos are basically snapshots, but they are shots from when I was able to hike/backpack.

I also have a photography site (in my signature too). Most are of the 'icons' from Yosemite, but I have a few that are from other parts of the Sierra. :D
