High Sierra Topix

Just got my permit reservation for starting the JMT on July 18. Am now looking into transportation. Anybody else starting the same time? Maybe we could work out a shuttle arrangement. We are 2 people.

Alas, we're starting a week earlier (10th), or we'd be glad to help.

too early to tell when we will be starting, but we're more likely to be on the trail before July 10 than the 18th. The only reason we'd push it back is if there's unexpected snow this spring. Doesn't look like we're headed for a big snow year, though.

Check back here in a few months when we're getting closer to the detailed planning. We're 3 hikers, and we usually park our car at the end of the trail (start north, hike south).

Last summer we used Bob Ennis' shuttle and split the cost with a few other hikers who rode from the Portal to Tuolumne in his van. Not cheap, but it was guaranteed service at the time we needed it. Bob is based in Lone Pine - http://www.mtwhitneyshuttle.com/
