SEQUOIA AND KINGS CANYON NATIONAL PARKS, California August 13, 2020– The 16-mile Generals Highway Rehabilitation Project that has been underway during the last two construction seasons is expected to be finalized later this year, but critical work remains that requires temporary road closures. The Generals Highway between Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks will close for eight hours nightly Sunday through Thursday. These closures are scheduled to begin Monday, August 17 and last approximately three weeks.

The construction zone begins at the Generals Highway and Highway 180 junction (Wye) in Kings Canyon National Park, progressing south along the Generals Highway through Sequoia National Forest, and concluding at Little Baldy Saddle in the northern area of Sequoia National Park. This project has also included repaving of the Wolverton Road and its parking area.

I don't give out specific route information, my belief is that it takes away from the whole adventure spirit of a trip, if you need every inch planned out, you'll have to get that from someone else.
